Kale Chips

Kale Chips

Use your Air Fryer to make Kale Chips

Kale is high in Vitamin C and Vitamin A along with several other Nutrients. This makes for a healthy snack. Consider trying these instead of going for those potato chips.

Making Kale chips is so easy. They are surprisingly good too.  You need kale, olive oil and salt. Strip off the kale into your air fryer bucket leaving room for the air to circulate.  I was able to get 3 stalks in mine.

Next up is to drizzle some olive oil over them. A tablespoon or so. Then a shake or two of salt from your salt shaker. Probably talking a 1/4 of a teaspoon.  Now fry it for 5-6 minutes at 350 degrees. I find that 5 minutes leaves a few pieces chewy while 6 everything is crispy. Giving them a shake 1/2 though will also help distribute the heat. If you over cook them you will see that they turn slightly brown and taste a little bitter.

Once you have tried these you can start to experiment with them. Instead of salt,  parmesan cheese works well. Try garlic, celery salt, pepper, cumin, what ever you like!

I save the crispy crumbs and use them as a garnish.  They can really make things pop.

4/15/2020 – Something to add, I was informed that some air fryers have poor screens or no screens in them and if your kale floats up the the heating element and gets stuck  it burns and creates quite a stink. I have yet to have this problem and make kale chips often but it sounded like something important that I should note.

Can’t really go wrong with snack options – particularly ones that give us playtime with the air fryer! I’m going to try this out!
