Jewelry Cleaner

Jewelry Cleaner

Clean nuts and bolts with a Jewelry cleaner.

You can re-purpose an old jewelry cleaner – ultrasonic cleaner to clean those nuts, bolts, carbs and all sorts of dirty parts. A simple solution of water and baking soda works well. Other solutions can be used, but caution is advised since these are made of plastic. These can be purchased online and often found at thrift shops.

Many of these units also heat the solution which also aids in removing dirt and grime.

Here are a list of different solutions you can use. Be sure to test on your metal first.

Purple power degreaser – works great but eats aluminum.
Water with Alka-Seltzer
Water and Toothpaste (scrub item with toothpaste, then drop in)
Dawn soap
Baking soda
Tin foil (small square) , hot water, baking soda
Beer
