Free phone service – sort of..

Let’s start with the ” sort of ” – you need to have wifi/internet service.

If you go to https://voice.google.com you can sign up for a free phone number and receive calls on your phone or computer for free. This includes the google home. The calls are all routed through the internet. The call quality was very good for me and the number can be forwarded to other numbers. There is a built in answering service so you won’t miss any calls. There are many uses including if traveling overseas to avoid crazy phone rates. If you always have access to a wifi signal this is the way to go.

If you need cell phone service, google has that too, it’s called google fi,  https://fi.google.com the biggest advantage of using google fi is that it supports network switching, if you have a phone that supports it. Network switching allows your phone call to stay connected when switching between different cell phone providers. Google Fi uses cell towers from T-Mobile, Sprint and US Cellular.  They have different pricing plans, with a pay as you go starting at 20.00 a month + 10.00 per gig of data you use. They also offer a 20.00 referral code good after 30 days of using the service. Use code H6AE13 at checkout and we both get a 20.00 bill credit.
